We first met Anna three years ago when she visited our clinic for a combined breast augmentation and lift. She recently returned to us for her free annual check-up, and we asked her to share why she chose the surgery, what her experiences were, and how she felt about the transformation.

Did you hesitate for a long time before making the decision?

For me, it was actually a very sudden decision. My breasts had always bothered me because they were large. After a period of rapid weight loss followed by gaining it back and losing it again, this "yo-yo" effect really took a toll on my chest. However, I hadn't really considered seeing a plastic surgeon.

A friend had mentioned Dr. Zsolt Toperczer to me before, and one morning it just clicked that the doctor performs these exact procedures. I called him that very day, scheduled a consultation, and had my surgery six weeks later. So, the resolution came quickly. Honestly, if I had overthought it, I probably would have talked myself out of it, so I’m glad I didn't dwell on it for too long.

How did you prepare, and how long did the surgery take?

Personally, I didn't do a massive amount of preparation. There were blood tests and an EKG before the operation, which are necessary to ensure I was fit for general anesthesia. The surgery itself took about three hours.

How did you feel after the operation, and what did you have to look out for?

I was still a bit groggy from the anesthesia. I wasn't allowed to drive for six weeks after the surgery, so a friend came to pick me up. The first week was the hardest; for a few days following the operation, the pain in my breasts was quite intense. I could bathe by myself, but for example, I couldn't wash my own hair, and I had to avoid all physical exertion. I had to wear a special surgical bra for six weeks, which actually made the recovery period a bit more comfortable.

You became pregnant shortly after your surgery. How did the implants affect breastfeeding?

Actually, they didn't affect it at all. I didn't experience any disadvantages. I had a lot of milk, and I never felt during breastfeeding that I had to do anything differently because of the implants. Since they were placed under the muscle, you can't really even feel them. They feel so much like a part of me now that if I didn't have to come back for check-ups, I’d probably forget I even have them.

I was worried that breastfeeding might cause my breasts to sag again—the doctor did warn me about this possibility—but fortunately, that didn't happen.

Are you satisfied with the final result?

I love it very, very much. I was, and still am, very proud to finally have beautiful breasts again. Before the surgery, I was incredibly self-conscious about them, but since the procedure, I feel so much freer. I’m happy that I don’t feel the need to hide myself anymore. It gave me a huge boost in self-confidence—mind you, I have yet to meet a woman who regretted having this surgery!
